Engagement Ring Surprise

Monday, February 15th, 2010

In September of 2004 my fiancé and I took a trip to visit my jeweler Johnny in Houston Texas to have our wedding rings designed and made. My Fiancé had been bugging the crap out of me about when the Jeweler would have them ready. The rings finally came in and I surprised her with them at dinner on October 29th 2004. I had the waitress bring them out as if she was serving us food.. My Fiancé had no clue! Her ring has a 1.5 ct vvs princess cut stone with smaller invisble set princess cut stones to the left and right. My ring was made of all invible set vvs princess cut stones, I cant remember how many carats but it was a lot. Both were made by Johnny. http://www.johnnyscustomjewelry.com/

What should we do with our Engagement Rings?

Wednesday, February 10th, 2010

My fiancee and I got plain engagement ‘bands’. Now for the wedding we are having more traditional rings made (with a diamond for her). Our wedding rings won’t match our engagement rings, and I can’t find any advice on what to do with the bands. Wear them on our right hands? Display them? Just keep them tucked away as a memory?

During those times when you’re out and about doing sporting or outdoorsy stuff, I would use the older rings.

For work or special events, I would wear the new ones.

Is there an alternative to traditional engagement rings?

Saturday, January 30th, 2010

I look at engagement rings and they all seem the same … mostly diamond solitaires.

Has anyone got any ideas for an alternative stone or something that makes your engagement ring a little different? Do it have to be just diamond?

Definitely go with a non-diamond stone! Just do your homework on the stone you choose so you are sure to get something sturdy that will hold up with everyday wear.
My fiance chose an engagement ring setting and had a custom-cut aquamarine put in as the center stone.
